The response has been overwhelming
I’m leaving the beard for as long as I can into Decembeard. Hopefully I’ll keep it long enough for it to serve as a festive holiday beard. Perhaps I’ll make it all the way to Manuary… Doubt it. But I’ll definitely be participating in Mustache March. Okay enough with the absurd beard month names. Goodnight all of you loyal, beard loving tumblr followers.

Paraeidolia
Pareidolia is when random images or sounds are perceived as significant. Seeing clouds in the shapes of dinosaurs, Jesus on a hot pocket, or hearing messages when a record is played backward are common examples of pareidolia. The common element is that the stimulus is neutral, it does not have intentional meaning; the meaning is in the viewer’s perception. Interesting Fact: the Rorschach...

The Breeze
I sleep with my window Open on most nights, Inviting the breeze in. Sometimes it enters Like an old friend, Sometimes it can’t find its way To my tattered screen. I like to imagine the breeze Getting stuck in traffic, Or caught in tree branches On its way to toss the wispy Locks that sit atop my head. I sweat some nights, when The breeze doesn’t visit. Trapped in a...

Para Salvar Árboles (To Save Trees)
Friendship. Like the cold clutches of A gaping hole, found in the Earth. With walls of loose dirt, That crumble at the touch. Impossible to cling to. From within, one looks up At a large luminous sky; blue And white, and dark, dark Gray—the kind of gray That makes you rue the day You were born, and no matter How much you love your mother, You curse her name for putting you In this...

end.
So this is the end of break. I’ve eaten a lot of food, wasted a lot of time, and accomplished a lot of nothing. Going into my last 3 weeks of class I can’t help but feeling unmotivated and even turned off by the idea of grinding out these last few classes. I’m finished with this semester, I’ve done what I needed to get done. I’ve not exceeded any expectations,...

Hiccups (Seriously, read this)
“The first air-breathing fish and amphibians extracted oxygen using gills when in the water and primitive lungs when on land—and to do so, they had to be able to close the glottis, or entryway to the lungs, when underwater. Importantly, the entryway (or glottis) to the lungs could be closed. When underwater, the animals pushed water past their gills while simultaneously pushing the...

But I don’t feel like writing or blogging. I’m gonna have a drink, watch a movie on Netflix, and go to sleep. G’night tumblr. I know none of you are glad that I’m back—nor did you notice my absence!

In case there was any confusion...
…I hate pretentious people. I may be an English major, and a writer, but I am in no way shape or form a pretentious, pompous, or self-righteous individual. In fact, I hate most other English majors. I think we’re all terrible—we’re no good to society. We can’t do anything else well, or correctly, so we flock to reading and analyzing literature, and in some cases...

Today was just one of those days where I woke up tired. Exhausted. Bored. My day only stretched on from there. I was stuck on campus from 11:30-8pm and I only had two classes, leaving a gap of 5 hours to be filled. This gap just had me reflecting on everything happening in my life right now. It was just a day where I found myself sick and tired of everything, not in a sad, depressed...
