Tossed in the Wind

Unrequited love is a boar;
A pig in the woods
With gnarled tusks,
Grunting in the dark.
Snorting.
Laughing.

Unrequited love is your hand;
It slowly passes by
Looking for something
To grasp,
To hold,
It longs.

Unrequited love is the shakes you get
When you’ve run out of
Zoloft, and you
Know you shouldn’t be
Driving,
But you drive.
Headlong into the night.

Unrequited love is a boar;
A boar in the woods,
A door in the storm.
Covered thick with
Leaves, and a slippery
Handle:
From all the rain.
