…and the breathtakingly disturbing.

There’s just such a strange realness to her photography. That’s what captivated me so much when I stumbled upon her. This one in particular made my heartbeat quicken.

It’s from her series entitled, bullfighters. The premise of the series was to take pictures of amateur Portuguese bullfighters, right after they had gotten out of the ring—while all of their blood, and fabric tears were still fresh.

She has such an eye for true beauty, and human life. Her photographs seem to see through all the facades that her subjects (all humans) put on, and cut right to the heart of the individual. Looking at these pictures, is almost like looking at the subjects soul.
